When talking about the fifty skandha-demon states in the Shuragama Sutra, the Venerable Master said: “As you look at the fifty kinds of skandha-demon states, let me give you a basic idea of what it is. Since this is not anything that ordinary people might encounter, some of you may think of it as science fiction. The truth is, if you are a true cultivator and work hard at your practice, you may encounter some of these states.”

Seeds of future retributions are planted in this life2013-01-10

Today my topic is that if we want to meet a good knowing advisor who can guide our cultivation, we need do more good deeds, help other people, and try our best to protect the Triple Jewel sincerely. In the twenty-seventh chapter of the Wonderful Dharma Lotus Flower Sutra, the chapter of past deeds of king wonderful adornment mentioned this dharma door. There were four Bhikshu who resolved to vigorously cultivate, however, no one provided them food, shelter and other daily necessities, therefore, being worried about these things every day, they could not focus on cultivation.

While Dharma Master Su Mei Du was in Thailand learning from Ah Jiang Cha, one day the community service consisted of sweeping leaves off the ground. Dharma Master Su Mei Du thought, “I have a Ph.D, I’m here to learn—and they tell me to sweep the floor? This is not my duty.” So he went about his work impatiently.
