Kai-Lan Delight2013-01-10

 

A simple meal is good for the body. Being optimistic and open-minded will lead to a longer life.

 

Ingredients:
1 ½ fresh tofu skin
1 bunch of Kai-lan (Chinese broccoli)
½ pack of enoki mushrooms
1 tbsp of shredded ginger
Some shredded carrot


Condiments:
3 tbsp of oil
1 tbsp of soy sauce paste
1 tsp of sugar
2 tbsp of water
Some tapioca starch


Steps:
1. Moisten the fresh tofu skin with hot water and fold into 5x10cm rectangles.
2. Put oil in the pan and fry the tofu skin until golden brown.
3. Boil the kai-lan in hot water.
4. With the remaining oil in the frying pan, stir fry the enoki mushrooms, shredded carrot, and ginger. Add all the condiments to the mixture and thicken with the tapioca starch.
5. Finally, put the cooked kai-lan in a plate, lay the fried tofu skin on it, and top with the stir fried vegetables.


Alternatives: Fresh tofu skin can be substituted with thick tofu wrap.
