When I was a child I vowed never to eat meat again, because one day, we will
view killing animals as equivalent to killing human beings. —Leonardo Da Vinci

We are connected to everything between heaven and earth. If you do not hold the precept against killing, but instead only have the thought of killing in mind, living beings will not have good feeling toward you either. If you love and cherish them, they will be good to you also. Everything is related to everything else.—Venerable Master Hsuan Hua
